Important Info for Food traders – Country Show 2019

Dear Food Traders

This year we are trying to achieve ZERO food waste and so will be collecting all excess, unwanted food from you and donating it to those that need it most.

This includes prepared food, ambient food and fresh goods.  Basically anything that might have otherwise ended up in the bin.

With the help of Brixton Peoples Kitchen, Lambeth Food, Compliments of the house and Olio we have put together an A team of food waste heroes to help us augment the process and make it super easy.

Donating your leftover food couldn’t be simpler.

First we need  you to sign a food donors agreement which can be found HERE.  This covers you for donating and takes less than a minute.

Then we would ask you to download the Olio app for Iphone or Android which allows you to instantly post leftover food for collection.  That’s it. Super simple.

Please do this now so save time onsite.

If you have any questions, please email me or speak to one of the Food Waste team when onsite who will be signing people up.  They will be roaming the site on Friday / Saturday during setup to sign people up or you can find them in the Food rescue area of the eco village.

Olio donations are considered in our Green Trader award and so could help you win a free pitch at next year’s show.

Thanks in advance for helping us become more sustainable.

See you next Friday.

Upon entering Brockwell Park, there will be four show entrances; one at Herne Hill, one close to the Brockwell Lido and a further two entrances on the Tulse Hill side of the park. Please follow signage and instructions from security staff as you enter lanes who will perform the searches before you can enter the event. For visitors with access requirements, pushchairs, prams, wheelchairs and young children there will be dedicated express lanes for you to use at both entrances to minimise queuing time for you, where possible.

There is no car parking onsite – Traders will be issued with a Green trader car park pass – This is only for delivery / collections and not an onsite car park pass.

In order to  reduce the traffic congestion within and surrounding  the park, all traders, and exhibitors  are asked to arrive for setup on the Friday. There are no exceptions to this rule unless otherwise pre-arranged with us.

After a break from the fashion industry, Kareen’s passion for her first love returned in 2005 when she was inspired to create a shrug from nothing but an old pair of jeans. Once this design was exposed to the general public Dre’s Designs shrugs became in high demand with friends and strangers alike wanting an item of clothing which they knew was exclusive. Dre’s Designs’ instant popularity led Kareen to devise new innovations to keep her line relevant. These ranged from the use of different fabrics and adding dresses to her collection of shrugs.
Dre’s designs have become known for using vintage materials, African print, Denim, Leather and PVC to create couture Ponchos, shrugs, dresses and bags which are all handmade.
In 2010 Kareen came across another unique gift of making jewellery. They are made from different kinds of bead and colours and fabrics.
In 2017 Kareen teamed up with Nana who also makes jewellery and, Tshirts and Hoodies, Kareen and Nana realised that their designs complimented each other, and when someone bought a Poncho, someone would buy an item from Nana.
Kareen and Nana have weekly meetings to come up with ideas for each other. Not yet to come up with a new name, they still use their own brand name .You can see Kareen’s Designs
